Does Marriage still hold its PURPOSE in today's society?

To have and to hold…
to love and to cherish…
for richer or for poorer...
for better or for worse…

through sickest and in health…
‘til DEATH DO US PART?

These are just a few of the basic lines spoken in the ever sanctified measure of love for another…
MARRIAGE! With this ceremony that has been classified as the most holy step to show one’s love and commitment for another, it’s not too surprising that the annulment or divorce rate has risen passed the number of marriages that actually honor every principle of the words uttered by the ministering party. Many have yet to understand that the words “I Do” are the most important verbal regards to be spoken by each party, as it is the “signature on the dotted line.”

So with all that said, we know the basis of a contract and the obligations that come with agreement. My question now is marriage even necessary anymore? Honestly, with all biblical references aside, what is the
PURPOSE of marriage in today’s society? The other part of this question is, all biblical references in play, once again, what is the PURPOSE
of marriage in today’s society?

In the upcoming weeks, I shall touch ‘heavily’ and ‘heavenly’ on this topic in hopes of bringing to the forefront the obscurities, the losses, and the blatant contradictions of a society lost on its own train of thought. Be prepared to hear a fact and opinion based debate involving

  • Sex, love and lust
  • Biblical references and interpretations
  • Gay and multiple-partner unions
  • Money (the lack there of and the plentiful)
  • Prenuptial and postnuptial agreements
  • Alimony and Child Support
  • Common sense VS. Common knowledge
  • The involvement of other parties (children)
  • My final take on the issues at hand
  • Your thoughts and comments dissected

Easy Peace!!
